Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Parent Training
Dr. Fogelson specializes in parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), which is the gold-standard intervention designed for children ages 2-7 with oppositional and defiant behaviors. PCIT addresses not only the parent and child individually but also, most crucially, their interactions and dynamics. PCIT employs real-time parent coaching to strengthen the parent-child attachment relationship in order to establish effective parenting strategies and improve child compliance and emotion regulation.
Dr. Fogelson also offers parent training, wherein parents learn effective ways to address and manage the behaviors that are affecting child and family dynamics. In these dedicated caregiver-only sessions, consisting of role plays and didactic learning, parents gain tailored techniques and skills to adeptly navigate challenging parenting scenarios confidently and effectively. These sessions are personalized to align with your parenting values and address your family's individual needs.
